An Alberto Giacometti sculpture sold at auction at Sotheby’s yesterday for a record $104.3 million. “L’homme qui marche 1” (1961) a bronze sculpture with long, slender limbs was sold to an anonymous buyer by phone.

All this recent interest in Giacometti can be almost entirely attributed to Avatar. Isn’t there a crazy resemblance to the Na’vi?
